Stage 1 is almost over. MIBR, GamerLegion, and M80 have already secured their Stage 2 spots, while Sharks, HEROIC, and THUNDER dOWNUNDER are out of the Major. Only three places are still up for grabs, and every round now matters. Check out the biggest results and key moments from Day 3.
The 2-1 qualification bracket delivered three very different paths to Stage 2. MIBR cruised through their match with the most convincing scoreline of the day, GamerLegion survived a pair of tense maps against BIG, and M80 came out on top in a North American showdown with NRG.
| Team | Opponent | Result | Qualified Record |
|---|---|---|---|
| MIBR | Lynn Vision | 2-0 | 3-1 |
| GamerLegion | BIG | 2-0 | 3-1 |
| M80 | NRG | 2-0 | 3-1 |
The stories behind those wins were very different. MIBR looked sharp from the opening rounds and never gave Lynn Vision room to settle. GamerLegion had to absorb pressure repeatedly before edging out BIG in two close maps. M80's victory felt like the performance of a team finding its footing at the right time, with its core players stepping up in the crucial fights that decided the series.
MIBR booked their Stage 2 spot with the most convincing result of Day 3, sweeping Lynn Vision 2-0 with wins on Anubis (13-5) and Inferno (13-2). What looked like a tricky qualification match quickly turned into a showcase from the Brazilian side.
Three numbers summed up the difference:
Insani dominated nearly every duel he took, while Klimentii “kl1m” Krivosheev provided plenty of support with a 33-9 K-D, 84.6 ADR, and 1.44 rating. Together, they gave Lynn Vision very little room to build momentum.
The result carried extra weight considering MIBR’s path through Stage 1. After a surprising opening loss to THUNDER dOWNUNDER, the team had to battle through narrow victories against TYLOO and Liquid just to reach the 2-1 pool.
MIBR adapted quickly to Lynn Vision’s pace on Anubis and controlled the map from there. Inferno was even more brutal, with Lynn Vision managing only two rounds as MIBR shut down their economy and dictated the tempo from start to finish.
GamerLegion punched their ticket to Stage 2 with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over BIG, taking Overpass 16-14 and Ancient 13-11. Unlike MIBR’s comfortable qualification, this series stayed on a knife’s edge from start to finish.
A few moments defined the match:
Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski led the way with a 45-37 K-D, 90.2 ADR, and a 1.32 rating, while Oldřich “PR” Nový added a 43-35 scoreline and a 1.20 rating. On the other side, Gleb “gr1ks” Gazin was outstanding despite the defeat, finishing 50-34 with a 1.29 rating. BIG had opportunities on both maps, but Ancient slipped away after GamerLegion won a crucial force-buy at 8-10 and seized control of the closing rounds.
M80 booked their Stage 2 spot with a 2-0 victory over NRG, winning Ancient 13-6 and Inferno 13-10. While Inferno exposed a few issues on the T side, M80 consistently came out ahead in the scrappy rounds that often decide NA matchups.
Josh “JBa” Barutt led the server, backed by Michael “Swisher” Schmid and Mason “Lake” Sanderson, whose impact rounds repeatedly shut down NRG’s momentum. Grim was NRG’s brightest performer, but he lacked enough support to swing the series.
Ancient shifted in M80’s favor once Lake started creating openings, while Inferno became a CT-side showcase after NRG’s 8-4 halftime lead. Swisher’s aggressive Tec-9 entries and JBa’s clutch conversions helped M80 close the door when the pressure peaked.
The 1-2 bracket delivered three elimination matches, and every loss meant the end of a team's Major campaign. TYLOO survived a three-map battle against Sharks, FlyQuest dominated the Australian derby versus THUNDER dOWNUNDER, and Liquid knocked HEROIC out of Cologne.
TYLOO’s victory over Sharks was powered by an outstanding series from Yi “JamYoung” Yang. Sharks opened with a convincing 13-6 win on Nuke, but TYLOO responded with a 13-5 Inferno and completed the reverse swing with a 13-10 victory on Anubis.
| TYLOO vs Sharks | Result |
|---|---|
| Nuke | Sharks 13-6 |
| Inferno | TYLOO 13-5 |
| Anubis | TYLOO 13-10 |
| Series MVP | JamYoung |
| JamYoung Stats | 61-33 K-D, 1.87 Rating |
JamYoung was the difference-maker throughout the series and reached a remarkable 2.37 rating on Anubis after helping TYLOO recover from a 1-5 deficit. João “koala” Pfeffer was Sharks’ best performer with a 42-36 K-D and 1.23 rating, but the Brazilian side could not build on its strong Nuke showing. Following the defeat, koala pointed to confidence issues within the team rather than problems with the map pool.
FlyQuest had a much cleaner path, defeating THUNDER dOWNUNDER 2-0 to stay alive in Stage 1. The series opened with a competitive 13-10 result on Anubis before FlyQuest completely took over Inferno.
| FlyQuest vs THUNDER dOWNUNDER | Result |
|---|---|
| Anubis | FlyQuest 13-10 |
| Inferno | FlyQuest 13-3 |
| Series MVP | Vexite |
| Vexite Stats | 36-21 K-D, 1.66 Rating |
Declan “Vexite” Portelli led the charge with a 36-21 K-D and 1.66 rating, while Corey “nettik” Browne followed closely with a 1.49 rating. Inferno was effectively decided by FlyQuest’s dominant 12-0 CT half, leaving THUNDER dOWNUNDER with no realistic route back into the match.
The final elimination series of the day saw Liquid remove HEROIC in straight maps. Liquid controlled Nuke from start to finish and then held off a late HEROIC push on Inferno to secure the sweep.
| Liquid vs HEROIC | Result |
|---|---|
| Nuke | Liquid 13-5 |
| Inferno | Liquid 13-11 |
| Series MVP | malbsMd |
| malbsMd Stats | 37-26 K-D, 1.50 Rating |
Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa topped the server with a 37-26 K-D and 1.50 rating, while Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski contributed 37-27 and a 1.35 rating. HEROIC threatened a comeback during the closing rounds of Inferno, but Liquid regained control before the pressure could fully shift, ending HEROIC’s Major run and keeping their own hopes alive heading into the final day.
Only three Stage 2 spots are still up for grabs, and the final 2-2 round delivers three high-stakes deciders:
