Mason “Lake” Sanderson is an esports athlete representing the United States on the Counter-Strike 2 competitive scene. Despite his young age, he is already quite experienced, having competed for almost 4 years in the discipline. During this time, Mason has participated in over 100 professional tournaments, achieving prize-winning finishes in many of them. His career earnings currently stand at around $23,000.
Lake’s journey in esports began in November 2021. From then until the end of 2022, Sanderson played for several lesser-known mixes, though he did not achieve notable success with them. Nevertheless, his consistent performances caught the attention of Snakes Den Gaming, which he joined in February 2023. With this roster, he earned his first career winnings after finishing 4th at ESEA Season 44: Advanced Division - North America. However, he was unable to build on that momentum, leaving the team in May. Afterwards, he had an unsuccessful stint with Looking for Organization before joining Unjustified Gaming in August 2023, where he finally found success again.
At his new home, Sanderson picked up a few notable results, including a runner-up finish at Fragicago 2023 and 5-6th place at ESL Challenger League Season 46: North America. He later moved to Torqued, but things didn’t work out, and within a month he rejoined Unjustified Gaming. This second stint also proved unsuccessful, and by March 2024 his contract had been terminated. From then until May, the American represented Carpe Diem, where he claimed gold at FACEIT Pro League - North America: February 2024 Week 1 and May 2024 Week 1, while also securing 9-10th place at ESL Challenger League Season 47: North America.
These performances highlighted his strong form, leading to a transfer to M80 in July 2024. With this squad, Sanderson secured all the major accolades of his career so far, including championship titles at ESL Challenger League Season 48: North America, NA Revival Series #7, Thunderpick World Championship 2025: North American Series #2, and NA Revival Series #8. He also earned runner-up finishes at ICE Invitational 2025 and Fragadelphia 19, alongside bronze medals at CCT Season 2 North American Series #2, CCT Season 3 North American Series #1, and ESL Challenger League Season 50: North America - Cup #1. Additionally, he placed at several other top-tier events, including 10-11th at Esports World Cup 2024, 9-16th at BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024, 5-8th at ESL Pro League Season 20, 5-6th at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Atlanta 2024, 17-19th at ESL Pro League Season 21, 9-12th at BLAST Open Spring 2025, 15-16th at PGL Astana 2025, and 20-22nd at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025.
Currently, Mason “Lake” Sanderson remains a core member of M80, serving as one of the team’s main players in Counter-Strike 2.
