In CS2, competitive matches now follow the MR12 format: 12 rounds per half, with victory awarded to the team and players using their CS2 crosshairs who win 13 rounds. At a 12:12 score, overtime is possible. One round lasts 1 minute 55 seconds.
Competitive / Premier — up to 24 rounds, average time: 30–45 minutes. Premier may include extra rounds.
Wingman / short formats — fewer rounds, average duration: 10–20 minutes.
Overtime — adds 6 rounds if the match is tied; victory goes to the team winning 4 out of 6 rounds. If 3-3, the match ends in a draw.
Summary: CS2 matches usually last 30–45 minutes. Short sessions are possible in Casual and Wingman, while full competitive time is in Competitive and Premier modes.
