Imagine a 1v1 clutch: you’re defusing with a USP-S, step over an AK-47, and auto pickup switches to it. Right then, an enemy swings — your rifle is still “readying,” and the round is lost. Even pros like m0NESY or NiKo often turn this feature off.
Go to Settings → Game → Weapons.
Find “Switch to picked up weapon” and set it to “No.”
You’ll still pick up weapons, but they won’t equip until you do it manually.
Sometimes it helps — like rushing in with a pistol and instantly grabbing an M4A4. But usually, full control over your loadout is better. Set up CS2 your way: disable auto pickup and handle every weapon swap yourself.
