IEM Cologne Major Stage 3 has reached its decisive stretch. Day 4 confirmed playoff spots for Falcons, Vitality, and Aurora, while FUT, G2, and The MongolZ kept their campaigns alive under heavy pressure. MOUZ, Monte, and Legacy are out, and the final Swiss round will decide the last LANXESS Arena places. Here are the results, standout players, and matches still ahead.
The 2-1 bracket produced the first wave of playoff qualifiers, with three teams punching their tickets to the LANXESS Arena:
Vitality delivered the most convincing result of the group. Dan “apEX” Madesclaire’s squad beat BetBoom on Overpass (13-8) and Nuke (13-11), controlling key moments on both maps. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut once again led the charge, finishing the series with a 53-24 K-D, 108.9 ADR, and a 1.66 rating. BetBoom received a strong performance from Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov, who recorded a 36-34 K-D, 80.1 ADR, and a 1.28 rating, but the rest of the team struggled to keep pace.
The path to playoffs was not entirely smooth for Vitality. They had previously fallen to 9z and were pushed to three maps by both FUT and MOUZ. Still, their composed showing against BetBoom was enough to lock in a top-eight finish.
Falcons secured a place in the playoffs after a hard-fought 2-1 win over NAVI, closing out one of the most intense series of Stage 3.
Dust2 was a one-sided opener. NiKo’s pistol-round quad kill set the tone, while m0NESY and TeSeS repeatedly cracked open sites to give Falcons a commanding 13-3 victory.
NAVI answered on Mirage. A balanced first half ended 6-6 before b1t stepped up with several key rounds, helping his team take control and level the series.
The decider on Anubis had everything. NAVI led 11-6 and looked destined for the playoffs, but Falcons rallied with six straight rounds. NAVI forced double overtime, though Falcons finally closed the map 19-16. m0NESY topped the server with a 57-36 K-D, 73.7 ADR and 1.33 rating, ahead of TeSeS (48-44 K-D, 79.1 ADR, 1.29 rating) and NiKo (52-44 K-D, 79.1 ADR, 1.19 rating).
Aurora’s 2-0 win over 9z was the most emphatic playoff-clinching result of the day. The Turkish side won Nuke 13-1 and Dust2 13-5, leaving 9z with almost no room to breathe after their earlier upset run.
Caner “soulfly” Kesici had a career-level performance, topping the server with 34-16 K-D, 98.2 ADR, and a 1.67 rating. Ozgur “woxic” Eker was right behind him at 30-13 K-D, 95.1 ADR, and a 1.65 rating, but his 1v4 on Dust2 became the defining clip. Down to 25 HP while planting the bomb, woxic isolated every duel and turned a round that looked lost into the moment that broke 9z’s resistance.
For Aurora, it also marked a return to Major playoffs for the first time since PGL Copenhagen 2024.
The 1-2 pool claimed three more victims as FUT, G2, and The MongolZ kept their Cologne hopes alive.
| Match | Result | Top Performer |
|---|---|---|
| FUT vs. MOUZ | 2-1 (13-11 Ancient, 10-13 Nuke, 13-7 Mirage) | dziugss, 52-39 K-D, 85.7 ADR, and a 1.33 rating |
| The MongolZ vs. Monte | 2-1 (9-13 Nuke, 13-7 Inferno, 13-11 Dust2) | cobrazera, 47-41 K-D, 69.1 ADR, and a 1.14 rating |
| G2 vs. Legacy | 2-0 (13-7 Dust2, 13-4 Overpass) | huNter-, 30-17 K-D, 71.1 ADR, and a 1.38 rating |
FUT’s Ancient win proved decisive, while The MongolZ bounced back after dropping Nuke. G2 looked the sharpest of the trio, giving Legacy little chance across two maps.
MOUZ, Monte, and Legacy all left Stage 3 with 1-3 records. MOUZ’s exit was the most surprising based on name value, but FUT punished them on Mirage when the series reached its deciding map.
Monte had chances against The MongolZ, especially after winning Nuke, but could not keep control once the series moved to Inferno and Dust2. Legacy’s end was more direct. Playing without coach Alan “adrrr” Riveros after his tournament ban, the Brazilian team lacked stability against G2 and won only 11 rounds across two maps.
Five teams have already locked in playoff berths:
Three LANXESS Arena spots remain, and the final 2-2 Swiss round will decide them. The last-chance matchups are:
Every series is best-of-three, with the losers exiting Cologne in 9th-11th place. NAVI vs. G2 headlines the round, but for all six teams the equation is the same: win and reach playoffs, lose and head home.
