G2 Esports is one of the most recognizable organisations in Counter-Strike. The club’s HQ is in Berlin. The organisation was founded in February 2014 by Carlos Rodríguez Santiago and Jens Hilgers. The first name was Gamers 2, but later, in October 2015, the team got its current name — G2.
G2 entered Counter-Strike on 11 September 2015, when it signed the Team Kinguin roster. In CS2, the team is playing in the game’s new era (after the scene switched from CS:GO). Since then, the squad has played in many big tournaments and has earned over $7 million from them.

History of G2 lineups
Many esports pros have played for G2 over the years. Each one helped build the results, and played a part in why the team is currently in the world TOP-10.
Achievements of the first lineup
The first Counter-Strike 2 lineup was bought from Kinguin and appeared in September 2015. It included players like ScreaM, fox, dennis, rain, and Maikelele. That five didn’t get major results right away, and their best finish was 3–4 place at DreamHack Open: Cluj-Napoca 2015. But in 2016, the results improved: the team took 2nd at ESL Pro League Season 3 and also won gold at Esports Championship Series Season 1.
Lineup from 2019–2022
From 2019 to 2022, the team featured players like: François “AmaNek” Delaunay, Édouard “SmithZz” Dubourdeaux and Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans, Audric “JaCkz” Jug and Lucas “Lucky” Chastang, Nemanja “nexa” Isaković and Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov. They brought the team a lot of trophies. The key ones were wins at Good Game League 2019, Champions Cup Finals, and Blast Premier World Final 2022, plus silver medals at ESL Pro League Season 9 Finals, DreamHack Masters Spring - Europe, IEM Katowice 2020, IEM Cologne 2021, and PGL Major Stockholm 2021.
