New Radar Setting in CS2: Force Square Shape

New Radar Setting in CS2: Force Square Shape

With the latest CS2 update, a new feature has been added — Force Square Shape. This long-awaited option is perfect for players who want full control of the map and to make better strategic decisions.

What does Force Square Shape do?

When enabled, your radar becomes permanently square and shows the entire map, regardless of whether the scoreboard (TAB) is open. Previously, this view only appeared when holding TAB — now it can be enabled at all times.

How to enable it:

Go to Settings → Game → Radar.

Find the “Force Square Shape” option and turn it on — your radar will change instantly.

Why it matters:

Full map visibility: the radar is no longer limited by your position — you can monitor every area.

Better coordination: especially useful for IGLs, support roles, and experienced CS2 players tracking macro movements.

Tactical edge: teammate positions, enemy rotations, and CS2 grenade throws are easier to follow.

Extra radar config tips:

cl_radar_always_centered 0

cl_radar_scale 0.3

cl_hud_radar_scale 1.15

cl_radar_icon_scale_min 1

These tweaks help improve map clarity and icon visibility.

Conclusion:

Force Square Shape is more than just a cosmetic update — it’s a practical tool for control and strategy. Whether you’re calling strats or keeping track of rotations, this feature gives you a whole new way to experience CS2.
