Valve Launches IEM Cologne 2026 Major Stickers With New Buying System

Valve has launched IEM Cologne 2026 Major stickers and the Viewer Pass, but the big story is how buying works now. Instead of opening capsules and hoping for a lucky pull, CS2 players can use tokens to buy the stickers they want, with prices changing by demand. Check the details before you spend.

Stickers and Viewer Pass Arrive for the Cologne Major

The IEM Cologne Major 2026 update went live on May 22, setting the stage before matches begin on June 2 in Cologne. The event runs until June 21, with ESL hosting the Major and the playoffs heading to the LANXESS Arena.

Valve’s release brings the main Major items players expected:

  • team stickers;
  • player autograph stickers;
  • the Viewer Pass;
  • Pick’Em access;
  • souvenir-related features.

Valve has changed how fans buy and use Major items, and that starts affecting players from the first purchase.

Token Purchases Replace Traditional Sticker Capsules

The biggest change is the end of traditional capsule opening for Major stickers. In earlier Majors, fans bought capsules and unboxed random team or autograph stickers. For Cologne, Valve has moved to a token-based store where players can select individual stickers directly.

That removes the old chase for a specific autograph or team logo. A Vitality fan can target Vitality items. A NAVI fan can go straight for NAVI. A collector looking for a ZywOo autograph does not have to open capsule after capsule and hope the odds cooperate.

The tradeoff is price movement. Under the new setup, sticker prices are not fixed in the same way. Valve has made individual sticker prices respond to relative demand, so a sticker that many players buy can become more expensive over time.

Demand-Based Prices and Token Refunds

Valve added a buyer protection rule for the new token system. If a sticker loses more than 25 tokens in value within 24 hours after purchase, the buyer gets a refund for the full difference.

SituationWhat Happens
Sticker price stays close to the purchase priceNo refund
Sticker drops by more than 25 tokens in 24 hoursBuyer gets the token difference back
Sticker price rises because of demandNo protection applies

For regular players, this makes early buying feel less risky. Nobody wants to grab a team sticker, then watch it fall hard right after. For traders, it adds another timing factor to think about.

The system still lets demand push prices up, especially for popular teams, hyped players, or clean designs that look good on crafts. Cologne’s sticker market now feels more direct, but also more active than the old capsule model.

Souvenir Weapon Crafting and Team Revenue Changes

Souvenir weapons are getting a major change too. Instead of only opening a ready-made souvenir package, players can now craft a souvenir from a weapon already sitting in their inventory. The craft is tied to a chosen match and player, while the price depends on the gold stickers used and the rarity of the weapon.

Match and player choiceThe craft is linked to a selected Major match and player
Crafting costPrice depends on gold team stickers, gold player stickers, and weapon rarity
Sticker revenue50% is still shared, but the split now has more layers

Valve also changed how sticker money is shared. The tournament organizer gets 5% of sticker revenue, while 45% goes to teams. Before the Major ends, that team share is based on Valve Regional Standings: the top team gets 2.85%, and the bottom two teams get 0.72% each.

After Cologne, future revenue will be tied to final Major placement. For teams, that gives both seeding and results extra weight. For fans, every sticker buy now feeds into a more detailed system than the old capsule model.
