"Split push" is a strategy where the team splits its forces and attacks a bombsite from two or more directions simultaneously. For example, on Dust2, some players might push through mid while others go directly to A from long. The goal is to pinch the defense and prevent them from focusing on a single area.
Against static defenses. If CTs always hold the same spots, simultaneous pressure from two sides can break their setup.
When controlling the map. If you’ve already taken mid or other key choke points, split push can quickly capitalize on that control.
With strong CS2 grenades. Smokes, flashes, and molotovs help block dangerous angles and synchronize pushes.
To break enemy economy. A successful split push often forces opponents to lose expensive weapons.
The golden rule — coordination. If one group enters too early, the defense will adapt. Timing and communication are everything.
