In CS2, shooting leaves behind blood, bullet holes, and bright tracers that can sometimes block your view, especially during intense fights. These effects can be distracting and may slightly reduce your FPS.
If you want to turn off first-person tracers, use this console command:
r_drawtracers_firstperson 0
To turn them back on, change 0
to 1
.
To clear the map of bullet and blood marks, use:
r_decals 0
It’s best to bind this to a key so you can quickly wipe the map during matches.
Keep in mind that without tracers it’s harder to tell where shots are coming from, especially if your opponent is using a silencer, like the M4A1-S in CS2. On the plus side, it’s easier to control your spray, and your FPS might jump by 10–15 frames.
Try these settings and decide for yourself: a cleaner screen or helpful shooting cues.
