
Liquid (Team Liquid) is one of the oldest and most well-known organisations in esports: the club was founded back in 2000 and is based in the Netherlands.
In Counter-Strike, Liquid has had different eras — from North American stacks to international rosters. There were stretches with fewer big-event wins, and there were times when the team straight-up ran the pro scene — the best example is 2019, when they won Intel Grand Slam Season 2.

Liquid’s CS roster showed up in 2015. The team quickly locked in on the scene and slowly worked its way to finals at the biggest events. One of their first loud results was silver at ESL One Cologne 2016 — that’s when Liquid showed they could go toe-to-toe with the top teams.
Liquid’s first Counter-Strike roster appeared in 2015. It included players like: adreN, FugLy, Hiko, nitr0, EliGE. The start wasn’t especially successful, but closer to mid-2015 they began picking up their first awards. They won silver medals at iBUYPOWER Invitational 2015 - Spring and Alienware Area 51 Cup #1, and after that they also took gold at RGN Intercontinental Open 2 North America, FACEIT League 2015 Stage I Finals, PGL CS:GO Championship Series Season 1: North American Division, CEVO Season 8 Professional North America and ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 - North America.
From 2019 to 2022, Liquid had different players at different times, including: EliGE, Stewie2k, NAF, Twitstzz, daps, oSee, Rainwaker and nitr0. These players also made a real impact on the team’s history. They won a number of important tournaments, including Intel Extreme Masters XIV - Chicago, ESL Pro League Season 9 - Finals, Intel Grand Slam Season 2, Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: American RMR.
