Twistzzzz's journey in the world of professional esports began in 2015. Early in his career, Russell Van Dulken played for several lesser-known teams, where he struggled to achieve significant success. Soon, the esports athlete recognized the need for change, and in the spring of 2016, he signed with Team SoloMid, finishing in 3rd-4th place at the European Championship Series Season 1.

In January 2017, Twistzzzz signed with Misfits, and just three months later, his contract was acquired by Team Liquid. This move would prove to be a turning point in Russell's career. As part of his new team, he was able to fully showcase his potential. He earned silver medals at Esports Championship Series Season 5 and ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018, as well as gold at ESL Pro League Season 9, Intel Grand Slam Season 2, BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles 2019, and Intel Extreme Masters XIV - Chicago.

Alongside his team’s achievements, Twistzz also earned significant personal accolades. He was named MVP twice at major tournaments, ranked among the top 12 players in the world according to HLTV.org, and in 2019, he placed 9th in their global rankings. Following this, Russell's list of accomplishments continued to grow, including victories at events like ESL Pro League Season 11 North America, ESL Pro League Season 17, and silver medals at the Roobet Cup 2022 and BLAST Premier Fall Final 2022. However, Twistzz's career entered a lull in 2023-2024, where he and his team did not secure any major victories, settling for only a top-10 finish in several tournaments.
