For the 20-year-old rifler, it’s a familiar return — he previously played for MIBR’s academy lineup from January 2023 to March 2024. Now he gets his big opportunity to prove himself on the main roster.
Nicks had been benched by Fluxo back in March and has stayed out of major competition since then. He’s finally set to debut for MIBR at FISSURE Playground 1, stepping in to replace Lucas “Lucaozy” Neves. Lucaozy moved himself to the bench shortly after the BLAST.tv Austin Major and has since joined Fluxo. His departure helped solve the overlapping roles issue with Felipe “insani” Yuji, and MIBR needed a dedicated lurker — a role that fits nicks perfectly.
With an average 1.03 rating over 226 maps for Fluxo, nicks is expected to add stability to a lineup that was finding solid form before the break. The team recently reached the playoffs at PGL Astana and came close to advancing to Stage 3 at the Austin Major after eliminating Falcons. Now, MIBR hope to continue their upward trend at the event in Belgrade, opening against Astralis.
The updated MIBR roster is:
Raphael “exit” Lacerda
Breno “brnz4n” Poletto
Felipe “insani” Yuji
Rafael “saffee” Costa
Nicollas “nicks” Polonio
with coach Jhonatan “jnt” Silva.
Their first match with this refreshed lineup is scheduled for July 15 against Astralis at FISSURE Playground 1.
