GamerLegion arrive as the highest-ranked squad in the opening stage after their runner-up finish at IEM Atlanta. B8, BetBoom, and MIBR also enter with strong positions in the standings, making them early contenders to reach Stage 2. Still, Swiss events rarely follow the rankings perfectly. A fast BO1 upset or a rough opening day can quickly push even favored teams toward elimination matches.
The Swiss stage runs across five rounds, with every result pushing teams closer to qualification or elimination.
That setup creates constant pressure. A single upset can reshape the standings, while teams on the edge often find themselves playing high-stakes Counter-Strike much earlier than expected.
The opening two rounds are BO1, so vetoes, pistol rounds, and economy calls matter immediately.
Once advancement or elimination is on the line, the format moves to BO3. That is where deeper map pools should matter more, especially for teams such as Liquid, BIG, HEROIC, and GamerLegion.
The opening BO1 slate is packed with interesting matchups:
| Time (CEST) | Match |
|---|---|
| 12:30 | M80 vs Lynn Vision |
| 12:30 | SINNERS vs FlyQuest |
| 13:30 | B8 vs TYLOO |
| 13:30 | MIBR vs THUNDER dOWNUNDER |
| 14:30 | GamerLegion vs NRG |
| 14:30 | HEROIC vs Sharks |
| 15:30 | BetBoom vs Gaimin Gladiators |

BetBoom enter Stage 1 with added pressure due to their roster situation. Pavel “S1ren” Ogloblin is not expected to play the opening matches, leaving Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov, Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov, Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko, Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov, and Timur “FL4MUS” Marev to start the campaign.
Among that group, zorte remains the standout player to watch. The AWPer has posted a 1.10 rating alongside 0.72 kills per round and 0.60 deaths per round. Against Gaimin Gladiators, his impact could be the difference between a comfortable 1-0 start and an early trip into the tougher side of the Swiss bracket.
