The Brazilian team Imperial overcame a challenging path to reach the LAN stage but encountered tough opponents and struggled to deliver a strong performance. In their first BO1 match against paiN on Dust2, they suffered a swift defeat, losing 5-13. Their next match against FURIA on Anubis was a tense battle; despite a promising start (8-4 in the first half), Imperial ultimately lost 11-13.
The decisive BO3 elimination match against Complexity, led by American player EliGE, proved too difficult for Imperial. The Brazilian squad fell short, losing 0-2 (4-13 on Inferno and 5-13 on Ancient), which marked the end of their tournament journey.
Expectations were high for the legendary fnatic roster to advance to the next stage of the tournament, but their performance left fans disappointed.
In their first BO1 match on Mirage, fnatic narrowly lost to Wildcard, 11-13, despite a closely contested game. In their subsequent match against Cloud9 on Ancient, the Swedes were unable to mount much resistance, losing 5-13. Cloud9's standout player was Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov, who delivered an exceptional performance with a 21-5 stat line and a 2.07 rating.
In their elimination match, fnatic faced Rare Atom, considered one of the underdogs. On the first map, Ancient, the Chinese team surprised everyone by taking a 10-8 lead midway through the second half. However, fnatic rallied to win the map by securing five consecutive rounds. Despite this momentum, fnatic faltered on the second map, Inferno, losing 10-13. Rare Atom's success was largely driven by the outstanding individual play of Junhao "ChildKing" Peng and Andrew "kaze" Khong.
The decisive third map, Vertigo, saw Rare Atom dominate from the start, giving fnatic no opportunities to recover. The Chinese squad closed out the series with a commanding 13-4 victory.
