Kaisar Faiznurov, a professional esports player from Kazakhstan, competes under the nickname ICY. He entered the esports scene in February 2020. Kaisar began his career with the team zARLANS, where he secured first place at the Alaman Cup Qaragandy tournament. Between May 2020 and November 2021, he played for several lesser-known mix teams, achieving limited success. His notable accomplishments during this period included bronze medals at the Alaman #StayHome and FRAG Season 7 tournaments with teams Stand Users and Benched, respectively, as well as a silver medal at Gorilla Esports Season 3 with Born of Darkness.
In December 2021, Kaisar received an offer to join the team AVANGAR, signing a contract that marked a turning point in his career. Just a month later, in January 2022, he secured his first major Counter-Strike title at the ESEA Cash Cup: Europe - Winter 2021 #3. ICY remained with AVANGAR until December 2023, during which time he claimed numerous titles. His most significant victories included gold medals at the ESEA Cash Cup: Europe - Spring 2022 #1, ESEA Cash Cup: Europe - Summer 2022 #4, Qazaqstan Respublikasynyŋ Kubogi Winter 2023, and Alaman Qaragandy 2023, along with silver medals at the Almaty Cyber Games International 2023, IESF World Esports Championship 2023: Kazakh Qualifier, and ESEA Season 40: Main Division - Europe.
In January 2024, Kaisar joined AMKAL ESPORTS, the esports division of the media team founded by soccer blogger Herman “El Classiko” Popkov. As part of the team, he triumphed in the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Qualifier B and CCT Season 2 European Series #1, establishing himself as one of the top players. However, in August 2024, Kaisar departed AMKAL and signed with Cloud9, where he currently competes. Since joining Cloud9, he has won two tournaments: the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: European Qualifier B and the Thunderpick World Championship 2024: European Series #2. Additionally, he achieved a joint 1st-2nd place finish at the Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024: European Open Qualifier #2.
