One of the most widespread CS2 scam methods relies on building trust. Scammers add players from accounts with hidden inventories and start talking like regular CS2 players: they propose playing a match, discuss the game, and act friendly.
Once trust is established, they claim their team needs a fifth player for a ‘tournament’. After you agree, they send a link to a fake registration site. Such pages mimic tournament platforms and Steam login windows but are designed to steal your credentials and access to your inventory.
a hidden inventory on the new account;
talks about tournaments shortly after meeting;
a request to visit an external site to ‘register’;
pressure using phrases like “quickly”, “nothing dangerous”, “everyone does it”.
never enter your Steam credentials on external websites;
always check the site’s URL;
if anything feels suspicious — stop communication and block the account.
