Flashes in CS2 can shift the momentum of a round — but only if used correctly. One accurate throw and your enemy is fully blind, giving you a huge edge. Miss the throw — and you blind your teammate or reveal your position.
Most players only know two:
Left Click — full-power throw.
Right Click — low-power throw nearby.
But there are three more options:
Both buttons together — medium-strength throw.
Release Left Click first, then Right — closer to low power.
Release Right Click first, then Left — closer to full power.
This variety helps you change trajectory and remain unpredictable.
A good CS2 flashbang should detonate right after appearing in the enemy's field of view. If it hangs too long in the air, your opponent has time to turn away. Minimize the delay to catch them fully blind.
Practice your throws on maps to understand where and how to use them. For example, on Dust2 as CT, a right-click while moving backward can safely flash long without getting counter-naded.
Jumping and movement affect range.
Strafe-throws are advanced and take practice.
Flash behind (Right Click + backpedal) to counter incoming enemy flashes.
Knowing how to throw each type of flash effectively is a key CS2 skill. Work on your accuracy and timing, and your CS2 grenades will win you rounds.
