In CS2, an updated chat filtering system was introduced, which automatically replaces words with a line of ****** even when there’s nothing inappropriate about them.
CS2 players have already experienced cases where an innocent word like “mandarin” mysteriously turns into a bunch of stars. And if your mic is broken or you don’t have one, giving crucial callouts becomes nearly impossible.
To get rid of this annoying censorship in CS2, all you have to do is tweak some settings. Open the main menu, go to game options, and look for the section related to communication — usually labeled “Communication.” Among the first settings you’ll see is “Text Filtering.” Just disable this feature, and your messages will come through without interference.
Until the developers polish this system, it’s better to take matters into your own hands. That way, you can share callouts and jokes with your team without your messages turning into a cryptic puzzle of stars. Adjust CS2 to your liking and enjoy clean, unrestricted communication!
