About the team

NRG is a US-registered esports org. Its head office is in Los Angeles, California. The company has multiple teams across different games. One of the main ones is the division that competes in Counter-Strike.

The organization’s story started in November 2015, and its CS run began in January 2016. The CS:GO roster played actively until September 2019, after which it was bought out by Evil Geniuses. But in November 2023, the org returned to the game — this time in CS2.

NRG roster history

Across NRG’s whole history, the main roster has included many well-known esports players. All of them helped the org grow and establish itself, letting it reach the Top 100 in the world. Still, among everyone who played for the Counter-Strike division, it’s worth highlighting the players from the first roster, and the lineup that played in 2019 before the CS:GO roster was disbanded.

Achievements of the first roster

The first roster included Brehze (Vincent Cayonte), daps (Damian Steele), FugLy (Jacob Medina), AnJ (Allan Jensen), Ethan (Ethan Arnold). This is the group that secured the first real wins in Counter-Strike. With this lineup, the team took 3rd–4th at Counter Pit League Season 2 - Finals, placed 5th at ESL Pro League Season 3 - North America, and also won iBUYPOWER Invitational - Spring 2018, Intel Extreme Masters XIII - Shanghai, and cs_summit 3 — while also grabbing silver at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 5 and SuperNova Malta 2018.

2019 roster

In this period, the main roster featured Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte, Joshua “oSee” Ohm, Jadan “HexT” Postma, Justin “FaNg” Coakley, and Damian “daps” Steele. They kept the momentum going and picked up more trophies. The biggest ones were gold at Americas Minor Championship - Katowice 2019, Esports Championship Series Season 7 - North America: Series 2, and Americas Minor Championship - Berlin 2019, plus 3rd–4th finishes at StarSeries & i-League CS:GO Season 7, Intel Extreme Masters XIV - Sydney, cs_summit 4, Esports Championship Series Season 7 - Finals, ESL Pro League Season 9 - Finals, and StarLadder Berlin Major 2019.
