

Ninjas in Pyjamas is an esports organisation registered in Stockholm, Sweden. It was founded in 1999, although it was inactive between 2007 and 2012. Right now, the company has several active divisions, but the main and most popular one is its Counter-Strike team.
NiP is one of the most recognisable tags on the scene. The team is no longer just living off the past and is still trying to make deep runs at big tournaments.
Ninjas in Pyjamas is one of the oldest teams on the pro scene. Over the years, the Counter-Strike division has played in hundreds of tournaments, and in many of them, the team managed to put up solid results and finish in the prize spots. Several different rosters have played for Ninjas in Pyjamas, representing the organisation in different versions of Counter-Strike. Among them, it is worth highlighting the first 1.6 and GO rosters, as well as the players who represented the organisation from 2019 to 2022.
The team was founded by Tommy “Potti” Ingemarsson and Emil “HeatoN” Christensen. In the early 2000s, their squad was one of the best in Counter-Strike according to GotFrag. That was backed up by the results, including a first-place finish at CPL World Championship 2001.
The first roster in CS:GO looked like this: GeT_RiGhT (Christopher Alesund), Xizt (Richard Landström), f0rest (Patrik Lindberg), friberg (Adam Friberg), Fifflaren (Robin Johansson). These players helped the team win gold at DreamHack Valencia 2012 and also take victory at the first Major — ESL One Cologne 2014.
From 2019 to 2022, the team featured players such as Simon Eliasson “twist”, Tim Jonasson “nawwk”, Bjorn Pers “THREAT”, Jonas Olofsson “Lekr0”, Patrik Lindberg “f0rest”, and Christopher Alesund “Get_RiGhT”, while Nicolas Gonzalez Zamora “Plopski” played the role of substitute. This roster was one of the most successful in the organisation’s history and managed to win dozens of awards. The biggest of them were the championship titles at Esports Championship Series Season 8 - Europe: Series 3, Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Fall: Europe, and Global Esports Tour Dubai 2022.
