Jake “Stewie2K” Yip is an American esports player who represented Counter-Strike 2 professionally for 10 years. During that time, he competed in numerous major tournaments with various teams and earned an impressive total of around $950,000 in prize money.
Jake entered the esports scene in March 2015, playing for SapphireKelownaDotCom, where he secured several early achievements, including bronze at ESEA Season 19: Premier Division - North America and gold at CS Select Showmatch 15.
He later played for several other teams. Between November and December 2015, he won silver at ESEA Season 20: Premier Division - North America with Splyce and gold at the RGN Showseries with the same lineup.
In January 2016, he was invited to join Cloud9, where he remained until March 2018. During this period, he won multiple titles, including gold at iBUYPOWER Invitational 2016 - Spring and Summer, ESL Pro League Season 4 - Finals, Americas Minor Championship - Kraków 2017, DreamHack Open Denver 2017, iBUYPOWER Masters 2017, and ELEAGUE Major Boston 2018. He also earned silver at Northern Arena 2016 - Toronto, ESL One: Cologne 2017, and cs_summit 2, as well as various top finishes across other events.
Following those accomplishments, he joined SK Gaming, where he won Adrenaline Cyber League 2018 and Moche XL Esports 2018. He also placed 3-4th at ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018 and 5-6th at ESL Pro League Season 7 - Finals.
In July 2018, Jake transferred to MIBR and continued to achieve success, winning the ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 and taking second place at the Esports Championship Series Season 6 - Finals and BLAST Pro Series: Istanbul 2018. He also reached 3-4th at FACEIT Major: London 2018 and 5-6th at ELEAGUE Premier 2018.
From December 2018 to December 2021, Stewie2K played for Team Liquid. During this stretch, he claimed numerous titles, such as iBUYPOWER Masters IV, IEM Sydney 2019, DreamHack Masters Dallas 2019, ESL Pro League Season 9 - Finals, Intel Grand Slam Season 2, ESL One: Cologne 2019, BLAST Pro Series: Los Angeles 2019, IEM Chicago 2019, and ESL Pro League Season 11 - North America. He also placed second at ECS Season 8 - Finals and IEM Global Challenge 2020.
Jake later joined Evil Geniuses but played only a few events with the team, finishing 21-24th at ESL Pro League Season 15 and 5-8th at BLAST Premier: Spring American Showdown 2022. In April 2022, he decided to take a break from his career.
He attempted several comebacks. In December 2023, he participated in ESL Challenger League Season 46: North America with Mythic, finishing 9-10th. He also played for G2 Esports at IEM Dallas 2024 and won the tournament. In March 2025, he took part in the PGL Astana 2025 qualifiers with Wildcard in the North American region.
Currently, Jake’s career is once again on hold, and he is not part of any professional team.
