Rafael "saffee" Costa is an esports player with extensive experience in Counter-Strike. He began his professional career in 2010 with CS 1.6. Rafael played for several lesser-known teams but did not achieve significant success with them and went inactive at the end of 2012. His career resumed only in April 2019 when he signed a contract with New England Whalers, starting to compete in CS:GO. However, he did not achieve major accomplishments there either, with his best result being a 5th-8th place finish at ESEA Season 31: Main Division - North America.

At the beginning of 2020, he decided to make a change and accepted an offer from Paquetá Esports Gaming, where he achieved his first major successes. With the team, he won a championship title at Gamers Club Liga Profissional: May 2020 and also secured a silver medal at Aorus League 2020 Season 2.

In the summer of that same year, Rafael "saffee" Costa joined paiN Gaming, which turned out to be a successful move. He immediately secured gold medals at ESEA Cash Cup - North America: Autumn 2020 #3, ESEA Cash Cup - North America: Winter 2020 #1, DreamHack Open January 2021: North America, and also finished as a finalist at DreamHack Open March 2021: North America.

In February 2022, Rafael decided to leave the team and joined FURIA. Almost immediately, he won a silver medal at ESL Challenger #48, followed by several other achievements. His most significant victories include gold medals at PGL Major Antwerp 2022: American RMR and BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: American RMR, as well as silver medals at BLAST Premier: Spring American Showdown 2022. He also finished 3rd-4th at Intel Extreme Masters XVII - Dallas and Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022.

In July 2023, Costa signed with MIBR. With the team, he secured gold medals at XL Games 2023, ESL Challenger at DreamHack Summer 2024: South American Qualifier, BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #1: South American Qualifier, RES Latin American Series #3, and ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2024. Additionally, he earned silver medals at CCT Season 1 Online Finals #3, CCT Season 2 South American Series #2, ESL Challenger League Season 48: South America, and Ace South American Masters Spring 2025, as well as a bronze medal at Global Esports Tour Rio de Janeiro 2024. He also finished 1st-2nd at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024: American RMR.

Currently, Rafael "saffee" Costa continues to compete as a member of MIBR.
