Lucas “nqz” Soares is a professional esports player from Brazil. He has been competing in Counter-Strike for nearly six years and has participated in over 100 tournaments, playing close to 400 matches and earning around $86,000 in prize money.
Lucas began his career in October 2019 with Alma Gaming, where he played for over six months. Despite limited results, his best finish was 8th place at CLUTCH Season 2.
He then briefly joined Soberano Team, once again placing 8th in CLUTCH Season 2, before moving to DETONA Gaming, where he achieved his first real successes. With DETONA, he won Gamers Club Masters VI and secured a 3rd–4th place at CBCS 2021 Retake Series Season 1.
At the start of 2022, Soares joined B4 Esports, where he became one of the team's top performers. He helped them win ESEA Cash Cup: South America – Spring 2022 #2, Gamers Club Liga Série A: April 2022, and May 2022.
In June 2022, he was signed by 9z Team, joining their main roster. During this time, he placed 5th–8th at the Roobet Cup 2022, 3rd–4th at CCT South America Series #1 and FiReLEAGUE 2022: Global Finals, and 17th–19th at the Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022. He also won events such as KaBuM! Challenge Especial Gaules #1 and FiReLEAGUE 2022: Argentinian League.
From January to August 2023, he played for 00 Nation, achieving 13th–16th at ESL Pro League Season 17, 3rd–4th at CCT South America Series #8, and winning the Pinnacle Cup Brasil #1. He then joined Legacy, finishing 5th–8th at CCT Online Finals #3 and BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2023.
In November 2023, Lucas signed with paiN Gaming, where he continues to play today. He has become a core member of the team, contributing to titles like Global Esports Tour Rio de Janeiro 2024, RES Latin American Series #4, CCT South American Series #1 and #2, and ESL Challenger League Season 48: South America.
With paiN, he also secured runner-up finishes at CCT Online Finals #4 and Regional Clash Arena South America, as well as notable placements like 9th–11th at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, 7th–8th at IEM Cologne 2024, 4th at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 #2, 12th–14th at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, 5th–8th at BLAST Bounty Spring 2025 and PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, and 12th–14th at PGL Astana 2025.
