Emil 'Magisk' Reif began his professional Counter-Strike career in 2015. Initially, he played for several lesser-known teams without achieving significant success. At the end of 2015, Magisk received a trial offer from SK Gaming. In this team, he showcased his skills and, after two months, secured a full contract, helping the roster reach the finals of the CEVO Pro League Season 9 tournament.
In the summer of 2017, Emil Reif joined Team Dignitas, winning gold at EPICENTER 2016. However, by December, the roster was disbanded. Magisk quickly found a new team, signing with the esports division of the Copenhagen football club. His most significant achievement with this roster was earning silver at ESL Pro League Season 5. Shortly after, Emil went inactive and, in early 2018, signed with Astralis. It was with this team that he fully realized his potential.

During his time with Astralis, Magisk also earned individual accolades. In 2019, he ranked among the Top 5 players in the world according to HLTV.org and received MVP awards at BLAST Pro Series Lisbon 2018 and IEM Season XIII Katowice Major 2019.
From February 2022 to October 2023, Reif played for Team Vitality. With this team, Magisk won gold at ESL Pro League Season 16, Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2023, BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, and Gamers8 2023. He also secured silver at BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 and BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023, and placed 1-3 at BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2022 and BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023.
In January 2024, Magisk joined Team Falcons, where he currently plays. His best achievements with this roster include silver at ESL Challenger at DreamHack Summer 2024, bronze at Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2024: European Qualifier, and a 1-2 finish at BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown 2024.
