Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard entered the professional Counter-Strike scene in 2019. At the start of his career, he signed a trial contract with GoldenGitte, reaching the finals of the Dust2.dk POWER Play tournament with them. However, by the summer, the organization announced the disbandment of its roster, forcing the player to switch teams and join Sigma. Unfortunately, he struggled to make an impact in his new team and failed to achieve significant victories.
Realizing his career was stagnating, Jakob felt the need for change. In early 2020, he made a bold move by joining Singularity.dk. However, this stint was far from successful, and by July, he once again found himself on a new team—Copenhagen Flames. It was here that he finally began to secure victories, winning gold at tournaments such as Leo Vegas CS:GO Open - Denmark Finals, BLAST Rising 2021, Malta Vibes Knockout Series #4 Copenhagen Flames, Pelaajat.com Nordic Masters: Spring 2022, and PGL Major Antwerp 2022: European RMR B. Additionally, Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard secured 1st-2nd place finishes at tournaments like Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Fall: European Open Qualifier #2, ESL Challenger League Season 40 Relegation: Europe, and Intel Extreme Masters XVII - Dallas: European Open Qualifier #2.
In August 2022, Jakob received an offer from HEROIC and accepted it, signing a contract with the team. As part of this lineup, he won BLAST Premier: Fall European Showdown 2022, BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022, and BLAST Premier: Spring Final 2023. He also claimed silver at Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022, BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023: European RMR B, and Intel Extreme Masters Rio 2023, as well as bronze at Intel Extreme Masters Road to Rio 2022: European RMR B and BLAST Premier World Leaderboard 2022.
In December 2023, Jakob transferred to Astralis. With his new team, he continued to grow, becoming a key player and securing new titles. He won gold at Copenhagen Gaming Week 2024 and RES Showdown Spring 2025, as well as bronze at PGL Major Copenhagen 2024: European Qualifier B and PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025. Currently, Jakob continues to play for Astralis as a rifler.
