Ladislav 'GuardiaN' Kovács is one of the most experienced professional players on the Counter-Strike scene. He has been playing Counter-Strike since 2007. Ladislav's career began with the Source version, after which he transitioned to 1.6, and in the summer of 2012, he started competing in CS:GO.
In 2013, GuardiaN signed a contract with the team 3DMAX and later played for TCM-Gaming and Virtus.pro. However, Kovács didn't achieve significant success with these teams. Despite this, he caught the attention of NaVi, where he joined at the end of 2013. With NaVi, he won gold at the StarLadder StarSeries IX and Game Show League Season 1, became a finalist at Gaming Paradise 2015, DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2, and MLG Major Championship: Columbus 2016, as well as won StarLadder StarSeries XIII and CS:GO Champions League Season 1.
After three and a half years with NaVi, GuardiaN transitioned to FaZe Clan, where he continued his winning streak. Among the most notable achievements with FaZe are gold at ESL One: New York 2017, ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2017, and Esports Championship Series Season 4, as well as silver medals at ELEAGUE Major: Boston 2018. He also won titles at Intel Extreme Masters XIII - Sydney, ESL One: Belo Horizonte 2018, and EPICENTER 2018.
At the beginning of 2020, Ladislav went inactive but returned to the professional scene later that spring, playing for several lesser-known teams without achieving significant results. In September 2021, GuardiaN found a stable position and signed a contract with Singularity, where he spent several months. During this time, he won gold at the William Hill Cup: Closed Qualifier and ESEA Cash Cup: Europe - Winter 2021 #1 and placed 1-2 at Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Fall: CIS Open Qualifier #1.
From May to September 2022, Kovács played for Sampi. With the team, he won the Tipsport Online Cup 2022 and placed 1-2 at Tipsport Cup Online 2022: Closed Qualifier. After that, GuardiaN played for several other teams but did not achieve notable results.
Since July 2024, Ladislav has represented BC.Game Esports. With them, he has won gold at European Pro League Season 22: Division 2 and United21 Season 23.
GuardiaN also boasts two personal achievements. In 2015, he ranked second in HLTV's list of the best esports players in the world. Moreover, he is the second player to have reached a Major final with two different teams.
