José "Shr" Gil is an experienced esports player competing in the Counter-Strike discipline. He began his professional career in October 2019 when he joined YouClap eSports. His debut in the team was immediately successful, winning silver medals in his very first tournament—Master Community Cup II: Cup #1. After that, he secured additional silver medals at Master Community Cup II: Cup #3, DreamCup Portugal Season 4: Closed Qualifier, and Master Community Cup II, while also claiming gold at DreamCup Portugal Season 4 and finishing 1st-4th at Master Cup Portugal II - Closed Qualifier.
Despite these early achievements, José left the team in December 2019 and went inactive until August 2020. That summer, he signed a trial contract with EGN & Friends, where he finished 1st-4th in the One Tap League Season 1: Stop #3 Open Qualifier. Following this, he played for several lesser-known mix teams, including MaNk, TropaDaLacoste, and Native 2 Empire. Over the course of a year, José "Shr" Gil became the champion of Famalicão Extreme Gaming 2020 and One Tap League Season 1: Stop #8 Closed Qualifier, as well as finishing 3rd-4th in Circuito Retake Season 1: Take #4 Qualifier.
In August 2021, the player received an offer from SAW Youngsters and accepted it. With the academy team, he started by winning silver at NumberOne Season 2: Legend Stage 3 - Portuguese Qualifier, followed by silver at SiGMA Esports Cup Malta 2021, gold at Magicshot Techdays Cup 2021, and a 1st-4th place finish in Circuito Retake Season 3: Closed Qualifier.
However, these successes did not secure him a spot in the main roster, prompting him to switch teams and join GTZ.ESPORTS at the beginning of 2021. With this team, he won the ESL Masters España Season 11: Open Qualifier #2 and finished 1st-2nd in the OMEN WGR European Challenge 2022: Iberian Qualifier.
In March 2022, José moved to OFFSET Esports, where he secured gold medals at Circuito Retake Season 4: Take #3 and finished 1st-2nd in Master League Portugal Season 9: Regular Season. From August to December 2022, he represented VELOX, with whom he placed 1st-2nd in Circuito Retake Season 5: Take #1 - Closed Qualifier and won bronze at Master League Portugal Season 10.
In January 2023, he returned to GTZ.ESPORTS, where he finished 1st-2nd at Elisa Invitational Winter 2023: European Qualifier and OMEN WGR Challenge 2023: Closed Qualifier, 1st-4th at ESL Masters España Season 13: Closed Qualifier, and became the champion at Circuito Retake Season 6: Take #1 and Famalicão Extreme Gaming 2023, while also securing silver at ESEA Season 45: Main Division - Europe.
In August 2023, José switched teams again, signing with For The Win Esports. With this roster, he became the champion at Aveiro Techdays Cup 2023, Circuito Retake Season 7: Take #2, and Master League Portugal Season 12: Online Stage. He later competed with several mix teams, winning more trophies.
In September 2024, he returned to GTZ.ESPORTS once again, helping the team secure victories in Master League Portugal Season 14, Circuito Retake Season 9: Take #3, and Master League Portugal Season 15. After this, he received an offer from SAW's main roster, officially joining in January 2025. So far, José "Shr" Gil has competed in three tournaments with his new team, with his best result being a 9th-12th place finish at RES Showdown Spring 2025: Closed Qualifier.
