Team Falcons, featuring s1mple, knocked out of the Thunderpick World Championship 2024

The Falcons were eliminated from the Thunderpick World Championship after losing both matches in Group A with a score of 0:2.

This marked Alexander “s1mple”’s first official tournament in seven months. The three-time World Player of the Year started with a disappointing performance on Anubis against 3DMAX. However, despite losing the first map, he redeemed himself with a dominant showing on Nuke. Yet, his individual efforts weren’t enough to compensate for the weak play of the rest of the Falcons' roster.

'Don’t forget we’ve only been practicing together for about 10 days,' s1mple wrote on his Telegram after the loss to 3DMAX.

Similar issues were visible in the match against Virtus.pro: lack of team synergy, missed opportunities, and poor execution in trades led to the Falcons looking out of their depth by the end of the series.
It wasn’t the debut fans were hoping for, but s1mple managed to recover from a rough start and showed signs of regaining his old form, sparking some hope among his supporters.
